What is the "OnBackOrder" status?

The order status “Onbackorder” in the Bezos system means that there is not enough stock to fulfil an order. When this happens, we will proactively notify you by email if you have selected the option "Email me each day of new out of stock orders" under the Notifications Management in the seller portal.
Notification Management:
The notification management can be found under "Settings" on the bottom left corner of the seller portal. At any time, you have the option to opt out/in from any notifications.

What actions can I take when an order is "OnBackOrder"?

There are four actions that you can take through the Seller Portal:
  1. Cancel the order. Go to this article to find out how to cancel an order in the Seller Portal step by step.
  2. Remove the product that is out of stock and reprocess the order
  3. Replace the product that is out of stock with another product that is in stock
  4. Send more stock to the warehouse and once the stock is booked in, the order will reprocess automatically 
  5. Split the order and fulfill only part of it.  On how to do this, please click here
To find how you can take these actions, see below the steps.

1. Remove the product that is out of stock and reprocess the order

  1. Login to Seller Portal
  2. Go into the “Orders” section located on your left panel
  3. Click on the order, then select "Edit" on your top right
  4. Click on the icon "Delete" to remove the product that is out of stock or has not enough stock allocated

  5. Click "Save" to ensure the order gets reprocessed

2. Replace the product that is out of stock with another product that is in stock

  1. Login to Seller Portal
  2. Go into the “Orders” section located on your left panel
  3. Click on the order, then select "Edit" order on your top right
  4. Click on the icon "Delete" to remove the product that is out of stock
  5. Go to the section "Inventory", click on the icon "ADD+" and then select the quantity that you want 

  6. Click "SAVE" to ensure the order gets reprocessed, you should see a confirmation message after this action.



3. Send stock to the warehouse

If you already sent your products to the warehouse, your OnBackOrders will be reprocessed automatically once the products are booked. Otherwise, ship new stock to the warehouse by following the steps on this article.
